This trial tests whether fenofibrate can prevent primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) from coming back after a liver transplant. It is for adults who had a liver transplant for PSC between 1 and 7 years ago and have certain risk factors.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You had a liver transplant for PSC or PSC-related liver cancer between 1 and 7 years ago.
  • You do not have signs of PSC recurrence now.
  • You have at least one of these risk factors: your transplant was for bile duct cancer, you have inflammatory bowel disease, you had a cytomegalovirus infection after transplant, or you had acute rejection after transplant.
  • You live within a 3-hour drive of Mayo Clinic Arizona or can travel there every 4 months at your own cost.
