This trial tests whether tamoxifen, a hormone therapy drug, can shrink or slow down advanced solid pseudopapillary tumors of the pancreas (SPTP) that have estrogen and progesterone receptors. Who can take part

  • You are 14 to 80 years old.
  • You have a rare type of pancreatic tumor called solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPTP) that tests positive for estrogen and progesterone receptors (ER/PR+).
  • Your tumor is advanced (cannot be removed by surgery) or has spread to other parts of your body, or it has come back after prior treatment.
  • You have at least one tumor that can be seen and measured on a scan.
  • You are able to walk and take care of yourself (or are in bed less than half the day).
  • You do not have serious health problems like severe heart, kidney, liver, or lung disease, or active infections.
