Testing a faster way to give emergency medicine through the umbilical cord

Who can take part

  • Your baby must be full-term (at least 37 weeks of pregnancy).
  • Doctors have decided to attempt resuscitation for your baby.
  • Your baby is in cardiac arrest or has very slow heart rate (below 60 beats per minute) and needs adrenaline in the delivery room.
  • Your baby must be covered by a social security or health insurance plan.
  • Your baby must not have known heart defects or other life-threatening conditions.
  • The doctor performing the procedure must be trained in this specific umbilical vein technique.
