  • You have been diagnosed with acute gallbladder inflammation caused by gallstones.
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have a high surgical risk as measured by a hospital score.
  • Your symptoms started within the last 7 days.
  • You are willing to come back for follow-up visits.
  • You have a low risk of having a stone in the main bile duct, or tests showed no stone there.
