Who can take part
- You are on chronic dialysis and on the waiting list for a deceased-donor kidney transplant.
- Your blood type is compatible with the donor's blood type.
- You have no antibodies that attack the donor kidney, as shown by a recent blood test.
- You are willing to use effective birth control for at least 12 months after transplant if you can have children.
- You have a normal blood clotting ability and no history of blood clotting problems (except for minor clotting from dialysis access or superficial veins).
- Your donor kidney must be stored on a cold perfusion machine for at least 12 hours before transplant.
