Targeted radiation for breast cancer that has spread and is growing a little

OligoProgressive Metastatic Disease

This trial tests whether giving focused, high-dose radiation to spots where the cancer is growing can help control the disease while you stay on your current hormone therapy and/or CDK4/6 inhibitor. It is for people with ER+/HER2- breast cancer that has spread to a few places and is slowly starting to progress.

Who can take part

  • Your breast cancer is ER-positive and HER2-negative and has spread to other parts of your body.
  • You have 1 to 3 spots outside the brain where the cancer is growing, and these can be treated with focused radiation.
  • You have been on your first or second hormone therapy (with or without a CDK4/6 inhibitor) for at least 6 months before the growth started.
  • You feel well enough to do daily activities (ECOG performance status 0 to 2).
  • You are not pregnant, and you can sign a consent form.
  • You have not already had radiation to the same growing spots while on your current treatment.
