Who can take part

  • You are between 35 and 80 years old and have been diagnosed with COPD.
  • You have a small (under 2 cm) ground-glass nodule in the upper part of your lung that is mostly not solid.
  • The nodule is early-stage lung cancer, and you can't or don't want to have surgery, radiation, or chemo.
  • You are generally healthy enough to undergo a bronchoscopy or needle procedure, with no recent heart attack, active bleeding, or severe organ problems.
  • You are not on high-dose steroids (more than 10 mg of prednisone daily) and have not had a transplant or major lung surgery before.
