Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a broken hip (femoral neck fracture), whether the bone pieces are separated or not.
  • You are scheduled to have surgery where screws will be placed to fix the fracture, as your first treatment.
  • You can understand the study and agree to be part of it.
  • You are willing to follow the recovery instructions and come to follow-up visits as told.
  • You do not have dead bone in the hip joint (avascular necrosis) on the injured side before surgery.
  • You are healthy enough for surgery and do not have serious medical, memory, or mental health issues that would make it hard to follow instructions.
