Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have a recent (within 14 days) closed break in the upper part of your thigh bone near the hip, and it needs surgery with a metal nail.
  • You have not had surgery on that hip before, and the hip is not deformed or severely worn out.
  • You do not have other broken bones or serious health problems that would make surgery unsafe.
  • You are able to follow post-surgery care and rehabilitation instructions.
