Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a recent fracture of the lower jaw near the joint (subcondylar fracture) that needs surgery to fix it.
  • You do not have a serious medical condition that makes surgery too risky (like severe heart or lung disease).
  • You are not receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
  • There is no infection at the fracture site.
  • Your fracture is not caused by a disease, not an old fracture, and not shattered into many small pieces.
