Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your tumor is in the right half of the liver and has been confirmed as a specific type of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma).
  • You are having planned surgery (not an emergency).
  • Your liver function is fairly good (Child-Pugh class A or B) and you are in good overall health (ASA class I, II, or III).
  • You have not had previous upper abdominal surgery, and the cancer has not spread beyond the liver to other organs.
