Who can take part
- You had breast cancer or DCIS in the same breast before, and you already had radiation to that breast.
- You had a lumpectomy (breast-conserving surgery) to remove the new cancer and the edges are clear of cancer.
- The new tumor is smaller than 3 centimeters and has not spread to lymph nodes.
- At least 12 months have passed since your first radiation treatment ended.
- You are generally active and able to care for yourself (ECOG 0–2).
