Who can take part
- You had a past breast cancer in the same breast, and your new cancer was found more than one year after you completed breast-conserving surgery.
- You already had radiation therapy to that breast before.
- Your current cancer is small (up to 2 cm), estrogen receptor positive, and low grade (grade 1 or 2).
- You are 40 years old or older.
- You are planning to have radiation at one of the participating centers (Dartmouth-Hitchcock Lebanon, St. Johnsbury, or Cheshire Medical Center).
- You do not have breast implants or other reconstruction in that breast.
