Using a smartwatch to detect atrial fibrillation

This study is testing how well a special smartwatch called Corsano CardioWatch 287-2 can detect irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation) compared to standard heart monitoring. If you have symptoms of an irregular heartbeat or have been diagnosed with one before, this watch could help identify it more easily from home.

Who can take part

  • You are 22 years old or older.
  • You have symptoms of an irregular heartbeat (like fluttering, racing, or skipped beats) and your doctor has ordered a heart monitor, OR you have been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat and are coming in for a routine check-up.
  • You can understand and read either English or Dutch comfortably.
  • You are willing to wear a smartwatch on your wrist for heart monitoring.
  • You are able to give your permission (sign a consent form) to take part.
