  • You are 18 years or older
  • You need a catheter placed in the internal jugular vein (in your neck)
  • You are healthy enough for surgery (ASA grade I to IV)
  • You have not had this procedure done in the last month
  • You do not have an injury, infection, or bruising at the puncture site
  • You have not had surgery on the right side of your neck and your neck moves freely
