- You are between 20 and 65 years old
- You have been diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder
- You have been in the hospital for at least 6 months
- You are currently stable and not having acute psychiatric symptoms
- You can walk on your own and talk to others
- You do not have epilepsy, severe motion sickness, or trouble seeing or hearing
