Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been on a breathing machine (ventilator) for more than 24 hours.
  • You are starting to wake up and have been more alert for at least 12 hours.
  • You are expected to stay in the ICU for at least 48 more hours.
  • You have not been placed in a chair during this hospital stay in the ICU.
  • You were not frail before coming to the ICU (based on a specific score).
  • You (or your family) have agreed to take part in the study.
