  • You are between 35 and 75 years old.
  • You have high cholesterol (total cholesterol 5.2–6.2 mmol/L or LDL 3.4–5.0 mmol/L).
  • You are overweight or obese (BMI 24–40).
  • You have not taken cholesterol, blood sugar, or weight-loss medications in the past month.
  • You have not taken antibiotics, probiotics, or prebiotics in the past 3 months.
  • You are willing to use birth control (if you could become pregnant or father a child).
