Who can take part

  • You have a diagnosis of mild or moderate Alzheimer's disease (stage 4 or 5).
  • Your score on a memory test (MMSE) is between 12 and 22 at the screening visit.
  • You have a caregiver who spends at least 10 hours per week with you and can come to all study visits.
  • If you take Alzheimer's medications (donepezil, rivastigmine, galantamine, or memantine), the dose has been stable for at least 12 weeks.
  • You do not have serious health problems like liver disease, kidney problems, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or a history of other mental health conditions such as major depression or bipolar disorder.
