Who can take part

  • You are 19 years or older and went to the emergency room and were admitted to the hospital.
  • You have pneumonia confirmed by chest X-ray or CT scan and have symptoms like fever, abnormal white blood cell count, or productive cough.
  • Within the first day in the hospital, you need a breathing machine or medicine for very low blood pressure, or you have at least three other serious signs like fast breathing or confusion.
  • You have not been in another hospital for more than 2 days before coming here, and you are not expected to die within the first 3 days.
  • You do not have flu or COVID-19 within the past week, and you have not had certain drug-resistant bacteria in the last 90 days.
