Gene therapy study for nerve pain from small fiber neuropathy

This trial tests a new gene therapy called ST-503 for people with long-lasting nerve pain from small fiber neuropathy that hasn't improved with standard treatments. The study will check if the treatment is safe and tolerable.

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy (SFN) with chronic nerve pain.
  • Your pain has not responded to at least 2 of the 3 main types of standard pain medications for at least 6 months.
  • You do not have antibodies against the AAV9 virus used in this gene therapy (a blood test will check this).
  • You are not currently using opioid painkillers unless you have been on a stable dose for at least 3 months and won't need to increase it.
  • You have no history of alcohol or drug abuse in the last 2 years, and you do not use cannabis products.
  • You have no active infections, serious liver problems, or a history of cancer (except minor skin cancer or fully treated early breast cancer) in the last 5 years.
