Who can take part

  • You must have end-stage kidney disease and be on hemodialysis.
  • You must have sepsis (a serious infection affecting your whole body).
  • Your blood level of interleukin-6 (a marker of inflammation) must be higher than 50 pg/ml.
  • You cannot need a different type of dialysis called continuous kidney replacement therapy.
  • You cannot be pregnant or expected to pass away within 24 hours.
  • You cannot have had an allergic reaction to the dialysis filters used in this study.
