Urine test to monitor for urothelial cancer recurrence

This study uses a urine test to detect small amounts of cancer DNA (microscopic residual disease) after treatment, to see if it can catch a recurrence earlier than standard scans or cystoscopy. It includes four groups of people with different types and stages of urothelial cancer (in the kidney, ureter, or bladder) to see how well the test works for each group.

Who can take part

  • Age 18 or older, able to make your own medical decisions
  • Has had surgery or treatment for urothelial cancer (cancer of the bladder, ureter, or kidney pelvis)
  • You are willing to provide urine samples and undergo regular checkups (scans or cystoscopy) for at least one year
  • No known active cancer spread (metastases) at the time of enrollment
  • No other active cancer within the past 5 years (except for treated basal cell skin cancer or cervical carcinoma in situ)
