Virtual reading device trial for pre-myopic children

This study tests if a special virtual reading device can slow or prevent nearsightedness (myopia) in children who are starting to show signs of it. It's for kids ages 6 to 12 with mild farsightedness or beginning nearsightedness and at least one parent who is nearsighted.

Who can take part

  • You are between 6 and 12 years old.
  • Your vision is mildly farsighted or slightly nearsighted but not too severe.
  • At least one of your parents wears glasses or contacts for nearsightedness.
  • No serious eye problems like cataracts, glaucoma, or strabismus.
  • You have not used special contacts, glasses, or red-light therapy for myopia in the past 3 months.
  • You have not taken certain eye medications (like atropine) in the past 3 months.
