Cleaner cooking and ventilation for better heart and lung health

This study tests if switching to cleaner LPG gas stoves and adding kitchen fans can reduce indoor air pollution and improve your heart and lung health. You would be asked to use a new stove and fan, and we will check your health over time.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old and live in a permanent home you don't plan to leave for a year.
  • You cook at least 5 times a week and have a kitchen where a fan can be installed.
  • Your home is in an open village (not a valley or basin) and is a detached house with windows and doors that seal well.
  • You don't have a serious illness like severe lung disease, heart disease, cancer, or kidney failure.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you don't smoke or work around dust or chemicals.
  • You can understand the study and tell us how you feel.
