Insulin in the belly during laparoscopy to prevent adhesions

Prevention of Postoperative Adhesions

This study tests whether giving insulin directly into the belly during laparoscopy (a type of keyhole surgery) can help prevent scar tissue (adhesions) from coming back in women with insulin resistance. Who can take part

  • You are a woman between 18 and 40 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with insulin resistance (a condition where your body doesn't respond well to insulin).
  • You are scheduled for a laparoscopy (a keyhole surgery) for infertility or pelvic pain.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 20 and 35.
  • You are not pregnant, not breastfeeding, and do not have diabetes that needs medicine.
