Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You are in good general health, or any health conditions you have are well managed.
- Your gums are healthy or have only minor inflammation (gingivitis), and you have had any needed gum disease treatment before starting.
- You need two gum graft surgeries on opposite sides of your mouth to treat gum recession or similar problems around teeth or implants.
- You do not smoke or use any tobacco products.
- You are not pregnant.
- You do not take certain medications regularly, like ibuprofen-type pain relievers, bone medications, sedatives, or steroids.
- You do not have conditions that slow healing (like uncontrolled diabetes) or cause chronic mouth pain.
