Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must have a diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with kidney involvement (lupus nephritis) based on standard criteria.
- You should feel well enough to answer questions and participate.
- You cannot have other autoimmune diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis or scleroderma.
- You cannot have conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart failure, liver disease, chronic kidney failure from other causes, or certain kidney problems like blocked arteries or veins.
- You cannot be pregnant or taking medication for high uric acid levels.
