- You are 18 years or older
- You have been diagnosed with an epiretinal membrane (a scar-like layer on the retina) by an eye exam and imaging
- The front part of your eye is clear enough for the doctor to see the back of your eye well
- You have not had a cataract surgery and do not have a cataract that needs surgery now
- You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to join the study
