Who can take part
- You have a detached retina that is new (not chronic) and has not been treated before.
- You are older than 40 years.
- You do not have severe nearsightedness (worse than -6.0) or very long eyes (over 26 mm).
- You do not have certain advanced eye problems like scar tissue (PVR grade C) or inflammation.
- Your eye doctor has confirmed you have a posterior vitreous detachment (the gel separating from the retina).
