Wearable device and coaching to improve arm use after stroke

This study tests whether a wearable device that tracks arm movement, plus coaching to use your weaker arm more, can help you recover better after a stroke. It's for people who are at least 6 months past their stroke and have some arm weakness but can still use their hand.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You had a stroke at least 6 months ago, and it caused weakness on one side of your body.
  • You can move at least 3 blocks with your weaker hand in one minute (and your weaker hand is noticeably slower than your stronger hand).
  • You do not have severe depression, major memory or attention problems, uncontrolled pain (score 7 or higher on a 0–10 pain scale), or severe muscle stiffness in your arm.
  • You are not pregnant, do not have a terminal illness, and have not been in another stroke recovery study recently.
