Who can take part

  • You must be between 35 and 75 years old.
  • You need to have sarcopenia, meaning low muscle strength (grip strength less than 28 kg for men or 18 kg for women) and slow walking speed or trouble with sit-to-stand tests or balance.
  • You should have low muscle mass as measured by a body scan (BIA or DXA).
  • You cannot have allergies to protein powder or frequent diarrhea in the last 6 months.
  • You must not have serious health problems like advanced diabetes, cancer, heart disease, recent fractures or joint replacement, or other conditions that affect muscle.
  • You need to be willing to follow the program and give your written consent.
