Comparing two ways to guide a lung biopsy for nodules

This study tests whether a hand-drawn navigation method works as well as a virtual navigation system to help doctors reach lung nodules during a bronchoscopy. If you have a lung nodule that is hard to reach with standard tools, this trial may help find the best approach to get a tissue sample.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a lung nodule between 8 mm and 30 mm in size, located in an airway that is at least 5 branches from the main windpipe.
  • You are scheduled for a bronchoscopy biopsy to confirm what the nodule is.
  • Your doctor thinks the nodule is hard to reach with a regular bronchoscope and needs special guidance.
  • You do not have any medical reason that would make bronchoscopy unsafe.
