  • You are between 16 and 85 years old.
  • You have end-stage liver disease or acute liver failure and are on the waiting list for a liver transplant.
  • You will receive a donor liver that is not a perfect tissue match (this is typical for most liver transplants).
  • You are healthy enough for surgery and can take standard anti-rejection medicines.
  • You are willing to have extra biopsies and blood tests for long-term follow-up.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or needing a transplant of another organ at the same time.
