Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • This trial is for people waiting for their first liver transplant (not a re-transplant or emergency transplant).
  • Your kidney function must be reasonably good (GFR of 60 or higher).
  • Your MELD score (a measure of liver disease severity) must be 25 or less.
  • You must be able to attend follow-up appointments and sign a consent form.
