Who can take part
- You have stomach, esophagus, or where they meet (gastroesophageal junction) cancer that has not spread and is stage T2 or higher or has spread to nearby lymph nodes.
- You are well enough to have surgery (ECOG score 0 or 1).
- Your blood counts and liver/kidney function are within certain limits (doctor will check).
- You have not had chemotherapy, radiation, or immunotherapy for this cancer before.
- You do not have active herpes infections or need antivirals for them.
- You are not taking strong immune-suppressing drugs (like more than 10mg of prednisone daily).
