Who can take part

  • You have a kidney stone (or stones) that measure between 1 and 3 cm in total.
  • Your doctor plans to use a flexible scope with a laser to break the stones.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have not had open or keyhole surgery on your kidney or ureter before.
  • You do not have a bleeding problem or an active urinary infection with fever.
