Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You need to have a CT scan showing a kidney stone between 1 and 3 centimeters
  • You must be able to read and understand questionnaires in English
  • You cannot be pregnant
  • You must not have unusual kidney shapes or structures
  • You must not have a urine rerouting surgery (like an ileal conduit or bladder substitute)
  • You cannot have a bleeding disorder that makes surgery risky
  • You must be able to make your own medical decisions
