Skin vs cheek graft for urethra repair

This trial compares using skin from your penis versus tissue from inside your cheek to fix a long, tight scar in the front portion of your urinary tube (urethra). It may help if you have this scar and past attempts to widen the tube have failed.

Who can take part

  • You must have a scar longer than 1 cm in the front part of your urethra that has damaged the tissue around it.
  • You must have had past procedures like stretching or cutting inside the urethra that did not work.
  • You cannot have a skin condition called lichen sclerosus.
  • You cannot have had prior surgery to fix hypospadias (a birth defect where the pee hole is on the underside of the penis).
  • You cannot have had a previous urethra repair that failed.
