Testing a personalized urethra repair made from your own tissue

This early study tests whether an engineered urethral patch made from your own body tissue is safe and workable for urethral strictures (narrowing that blocks urine flow). It is mainly looking for safety and how feasible the procedure and follow-up are, not proven cure yet.

Who can take part

  • You have a urethral stricture (narrowing) that is 15 to 60 mm long
  • A small flexible scope (about 16 French) cannot be passed through the narrowed area without causing injury
  • You can come to all required follow-up visits
  • You can speak English
  • Your stricture is not in the meatus or the prostate urethra, and it isn’t linked to urethral cancer or certain injury types
  • You do not have an untreated urine infection and do not have certain skin/immune conditions (like lichen sclerosus)
