Who can take part

  • You are a man aged 44 or younger.
  • You have been diagnosed with early coronary artery disease (heart disease starting before age 45).
  • You are about to have a planned (not emergency) heart catheterization to check your arteries.
  • You have not had a heart attack or unstable chest pain in the last 3 months.
  • You do not have low testosterone, and you have never taken testosterone replacement or anabolic steroids.
  • You do not have active cancer, liver cirrhosis, chronic kidney disease, sickle cell anemia, or celiac disease.
  • You are not taking medications that change sex hormone levels (e.g., spironolactone or ketoconazole).
