Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have a retinal detachment that includes a tear in the lower part of the retina (between 4 and 8 o’clock) OR your surgeon plans to make a cut in the lower retina.
  • You can understand and agree to take part in the study by signing a consent form.
  • You do not have other serious eye problems (like advanced glaucoma, corneal ulcers, or active inflammation).
  • You are not having a different surgery (called scleral buckle) that would fix your detachment better.
  • You do not have a history of seizures or serious mental health conditions.
