- You are 18 years or older.
- You are missing one or more back teeth in your lower jaw and plan to get a dental implant with a fixed crown or bridge.
- The gum tissue on the cheek side of the implant area is thin (less than 2 mm wide) and the graft will cover at most 2 teeth.
- You have not had any gum grafting at that site before.
- You are generally healthy, with no diseases that affect bone healing or wound healing.
- Your gums are in good shape, with no active gum infection or bone loss.
- You smoke 10 cigarettes or fewer per day.
