- You have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that started in your pancreas.
- You had surgery to remove the cancer (either a Whipple procedure or removing the tail of the pancreas).

- You do not have chronic kidney disease, or other serious conditions like hemolytic anemia or lead poisoning.
