Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have a closed traumatic brain injury (a blunt head injury, not a penetrating wound)
  • You are in a coma (GCS score of 8 or less), meaning you cannot eat by mouth
  • A feeding tube can be placed and started within 48 hours of your injury
  • You need tube feeding for at least 3 days (based on a nutrition screening test)
