Who can take part

  • You must have thin gums (less than 1 mm thick), possibly with some gum recession.
  • You need enough healthy teeth and bone support to safely undergo braces or aligner treatment.
  • You must have crooked teeth (malocclusion) that need correction, especially in the lower front teeth.
  • You cannot have any medical conditions that make dental surgery unsafe, like uncontrolled diabetes or certain medications.
  • You must be willing to attend all study visits and follow-ups for the full duration of the trial.
  • You should not have had any orthodontic treatment in the past 6 months, and you must be a non-smoker or smoke fewer than 10 cigarettes per day.
