Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 60 years old.
  • If you have obesity, your BMI must be 28 or higher.
  • If you are overweight or have obesity and type 2 diabetes, your BMI must be 24 or higher, and your blood sugar must be at a certain level (HbA1c between 7% and 10% or fasting blood sugar between 7 and 13.3 mmol/L).
  • Your diabetes treatment must have been stable for at least 6 months.
  • You cannot have had weight loss surgery or certain other surgeries recently.
  • You cannot have used weight-loss products, probiotics, prebiotics, or antibiotics in the past three months.
