Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 27 or higher (which indicates overweight or obesity).
  • You have tried dieting at least once to lose weight without success.
  • You have type 2 diabetes with an HbA1c level greater than 6.5% and up to 10.5% (this test measures average blood sugar over the past few months).
  • You do not have type 1 diabetes or other types of diabetes.
  • Your weight has been stable (not changed by more than 11 pounds) in the last 3 months.
