Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled to have laparoscopic surgery (keyhole surgery) while lying head-down (Trendelenburg position).
  • Your surgical team plans to use an arterial line (a small tube in an artery) to continuously monitor your blood pressure during surgery.
  • You do not have peripheral artery disease (blockages in the arteries of your arms or legs).
  • You do not have congestive heart failure (a condition where your heart is not pumping normally).
