Who can take part

  • You have a very early stage (superficial) cancer in the esophagus or stomach.
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are scheduled for a procedure called endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) at the University Medical Center Groningen.
  • You are not allergic to the dye indocyanine green (ICG), iodine, shellfish, or clams.
  • You do not have severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or an overactive thyroid.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
